Yes. Where I live (Ontario) you can get kicked out even if you do pay the rent, the landlord just has to give you 90 days to clear out. I would talk to your landlord and explain what is happening. If only your husband's name is on the lease then maybe you can have the landlord hit him up for the cash. I hate to say it, but either way you should try to look for a new place to live as soon as you can. Also, check the municipal or regional laws in your area just to see what your rights are as a tenant, they vary from state to state, province to province, and in some cases even city to city. Good Luck!

If you do not pay your rent your landlord has a legal right to have you evicted from the property. They must file eviction papers with the local court system and have the notice posted on your door. do not consent to being removed from the property unless you are served with these legal documents. If your husband is not living up to his financial obligations you may want to file for support. Look up lawyers in the phone book, most provide a free consultation over the phone and you can ask them what actions you should take (what papers to file, etc) and then get the paperwork from your court's Family Law dept.
In addition most county court systems have self-help clinics with volunteers who can help you fill out the paperwork correctly. Ask about it when you pick up the paperwork. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, the law for renters also gives the landlord the ability to evict non paying tenants.

Yes he can, BUT he has to go to court to get an eviction. Until then you are safe, but you should be looking for another place.

He can't hold any of your stuff either. Or lock you out. It's against the law.

If you haven't paid rent in three months then yes. And he can get a court order to kick you out in three days.......even padlocking the front door so you can't get your stuff until you pay your rent.
