The nasty black stuff is mold. Make a solution of bleach water, one cup of bleach to a gallon of water, and add a couple of tablespoonfuls of TSP. The TSP can be gotten from a local paint store. It's a cleanser. It will clean the mold from the areas affected and the bleach concentration will kill the mold. After scrubbing all of the areas until clean with the solution, let them dry. Don't rinse them. Repeat this process as needed. It's very effective. Another thing you might think about doing it to have your bathroom checked for adequate ventilation. Since you have mold in the shower, you probably don't have enough ventilation in the room and this creates the moist conditions necessary for mold growth. Dry the room out and you won't have to worry about the mold returning.

Good luck.

Any of the products and methods mentioned in the other answers will remove the mold between the wall tiles. However, if you have the white silicone chalk material at the base of the tile next to the bathtub and there is black mold embedded in this material, it is best to remove the silicone material, clean the area really well, allow to dry and replace the material. Good as new !!

It's mold and milder alright as the previous member posted. There is a great thing on the market now that you hang on the base of the showerhead. After each shower you push the button, it will then spray a product on the shower that kills mold and mildew as well as preventing further growth. It works best if you clean your shower first (use a product specially for mildew and mold) Then just press it after every shower.

Its mold and mildew. you need to clean it out real good with bleach or some other cleaner and then apply a sealer to the grout. Periodic use of after shower sprays also helps

Mold and Mildew. Bleach is good. but don't mix the chemicals. Tilex Mildew spray is good. Then you have to do this once a week. Ventilate your bathroom.
