how do you ask out someone who used to like you?

this guy liked me but and now i like him how do i ask him out.

Say...... "I want to know if I missed my opportunity to go out with you, and if I didn't, can we go out now?" This way, you acknowledge but not diminish the fact the he once liked you. It will also make you seem as if you regret not taking advantage of his affection.

Be very sincere, just tell him you were afraid at first but now you realize how much you really care about him and just go for it. He'll appreciate your honesty and that fact that you were open about it to him instead of beating around the bush.
Go to him, don't let him come to you, he has already been there and done that.

well.. if you don't know if they still like you.. ask them that first. or start by saying.. "so... who do you like these days?" and if they say "no one" or "i can't tell you" then its most likely still you.. then take that and be like, "would you ever go out with someone like me" and if their answer is good.. "go from there" trust me on this.. its scary to ask someone out.. but i've helped one of my friends with advice like this and it worked.

just ask him... but not "do you wanna go out?" type of asking. ask very subtly like, "hey, i'm going to do this thing on [watever day], would you like to come?"
