A native grass that is sown for the use of home lawns and gardens. Its the same grass used for sporting fields.

True "Astro-Turf" is a specific, patented brand name. Although used in some baseball only stadiums, it is no longer used for football. There is another brand of artificial turf that is much more like grass in use for some football fields.

The New England Patriots used natural grass until a few weeks ago. NO PLACES USE ASTROTURF anymore. This was the rubber looking stuff that had no texture. Grass turf is like a growable carpet, this is used by most teams.
