OK well, I can tell from experience that Aquarius people are fabulous. And a little bit mad? The girls of this sign always seem to be talented musically, like for instance the late Eva Cassidy. The boys tend to be more aloof and in their own planet than the girls of this sign. I have been married to an Aquarius man and I am now engaged to another. They are unique individuals who have no real understanding of authority, unless it is of their own making that is. I have noticed over the last 16 years that a lot of Aquarius women are into the environment and are often vegetarians. They make remarkable friends who will always be there for you no matter what. But if you are in a relationship with one you may not see them as much as you would like..they are always so busy you see. The people of this sign always seem to have a bit of the genius about them, and arrogance, but not in a horrible way. The annoying hting is that they are very often and normally right (which I hate admitting to!!) I love Aquarius people, although I feel at times the girls can be a bit difficult to tune into. But no one comes more individual that these people.

Aquarius is an air sign. And is incorrectly referred to as "the water bearer," when in fact what is being poured from the pitchers is not water. The symbol is pouring out wisdom over all of humanity. There are three air signs. Gemini thinks in terms of me, my neighborhood, my immediate family. Libra, the next air sign, takes it a step further and expands it to, we must think of others, not just immediate family and neighborhood. Aquarius, which if you're into karma, reincarnation, whatever, is the highest,
most developed air sign. It says, we need to think about all of humanity, not just now, not just immediate concerns, not just relatives, friends, partners. We need to think about all of humanity and the consequences of our actions and how it will influence the future. Which is why so many Aquarians are inventors, (Einstein had a heavy Aquarian influence) vegetarians, environmentalists, rocket scientists; not your run of the mill occupation or personality. Sometimes they're accused of being cold because they're so busy focusing on the all that they sometimes don't see what's right in front of them. They are always ahead of their time. Frequently, you will hear the mother of an Aquarian child say, Why can't you be more like your brothers and/or sister? Why do you have to be so different? That's because they walk to the beat of a different drummer. A girl may want to take shop or auto mechanics in school instead of home economics. They generally love a good thunder/
lightning storm, computers. Have a scientific mind. Prone to unusual ailments that the doctors might have trouble figuring out, but possess a natural self-healing ability. Chances are the person that invented MRI's was an Aquarian. Many make excellent chiropractors because of the Uranus influence. Some can't wear watches because they stop. That's because they are not using their natural, for lack of a better term, electrical abilities positively. Generally have a difficult time dealing with routine - as in a 9-to-5 job. Mundane factory work would drive them insane. Some prefer to work nights. Difficult for them to understand pettiness, cruelty. Prefer their own unique clothing style. Many wear clothes ahead of their time. Aquarian women make excellent seamstresses, fashion designers. Generally have a fondness for plaids and patterns. That song by Prince, She Wore a Raspberry Beret, she was probably heavy Aquarius influence. Sometime they will have striking blue-beyond-blue eyes, other times they may have each eye a different color. They are prone to phrophetic insight out of the blue, which they need to listen to, instead of saying, Why did I say that? Why did I do that? They need to listen to their "gut" instincts even though it makes no sense at the time. Some have electrical sensitivity, can't be around power lines or cell phones. May have a lactose intolerance. Much depends on the placement of Uranus, and the co-ruler Saturn. If they haven't learned to deal with their ruler, then Saturn will kick in. Where your Uranus is, is where or how you will show your uniqueness, and where the unexpected will come into play in your life. Aquarius rising is a bit different. Anyway, just a brief intro to Aquarius.
Wasn't reading this more fun than reading the junk on websites?

I'm into all this so beilive me:
Born January 20 - February 18... Aquarius is the sign of the water bearer...a person who is very independent, original in thought, and a humanitarian. Aquarius is a masculine air sign that is fixed, which enable them to have very strong opinions and firm beliefs. This sign is ruled by the planet of Uranus, focuses on change, invention, and the unexpected. Aquarius people are usually known for their outrageousness and their determination to be unlike anyone else. They thrive on being different, unique, and even rebellious. They tend to do better around a crowd than by themselves. Being around people tends to help them take their minds off of their own troubles. Usually, they are better at giving advice than taking it. Aquarius rules the shins, ankles, and the circulatory system, which can make them prone to hardening of the arteries, sprains, and breaks. Intellectual, Logical,, Flirtatious, Sarcastic, Impatient, Spiteful, Communicative, Flighty, Debating, Confrontational, Romantic, Independent

Your Ruling Planet is
Uranus & Saturn.
Your Element is
Air.
You are More than a Sun Sign
The relative positions of all the bodies in our Solar System to each other and their positions within the 12 Zodiac Signs, flavour your basic character that is initially set by the Ruling Planet.
An Astrologer draws your individual Birth Chart, by placing at the exact position in the Zodiac, at the time of your birth - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto. Some Astrologers will also take into account a variety of Asteroids.
I can not overemphasize how this combination of influences, positions and inter-relationships, shift what a professional Astrologer considers not only for your Character at time of birth but how the chart of past, present & future moments influence your behaviour and reactions to circumstance, what the public think is predicting the future. This is in fact more like forecasting the weather but does have the advantage of totally predictable planetary positions.
Your 'Stars' or Sun Sign column as popular in magazines and web sites, use ONLY the Suns basic position in the Zodiac, it can be uncannily close at times but is only the first of many considerations when it comes to understanding you, your motives, how you react in different situations and of great importance to you - how the predictable positions of planets will influence your future. The interpretation of that comes down to the technical skills and intuitive abilities of the Astrologer.
Aquarius THE WATER BEARER - the sign of Independence
Aquarians are visionary - they have the ability to combine ancient tradition with up to the minute thinking and ideas, they are happy with the concept of doing things very differently but also honouring the tried and trusted. Ultimately, Aquarians suspend judgment and are interested in the way the world works as an observer, an onlooker. It's no wonder that sometimes Aquarians can feel like aliens or step outside the tribe to create ideas and concepts that the rest of us will eventually catch up with, one day.

Advice for Partners & Friends
A good idea - to give Aquarians some space; they are freedom loving folk and hate getting the third degree! In spite of their reputation, they are not commitment phobic and can be loyal partners, allowing you space to do your own thing too.
Not so useful - to expect an Aquarian to talk about emotions and feelings.
We love you at your Best ...
When you dare to be yourself, step outside of the norm and indulge you desire to go the opposite way to everyone else. You can challenge conventional thinking and refuse to get drawn into long discussions about your feelings, but nevertheless you are still extremely sensitive - you are simply very good at using the Saturnian ability to create a cool exterior. Underneath beats a passionate heart which can sometimes extend beyond the boundaries of nearest and dearest and embrace the planet.
Humanitarian, friendly, independent, quirky, willing, progressive, an original thinker, inventive, creative, loyal, idealistic yet rational.
.... Difficult to Live With!
Aquarians are very unpredictable, and will stubbornly choose to behave contrary to what is expected. It's all a game and the intention is to stay free from restriction. They neither like to be considered boring or conventional, and will delight in challenging your beliefs about who you are. If you don't share Aquarians' love of gizmos and gadgets then steer clear.

more:
The Elements
Air
The Element of Air is attached to the Signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. It also rules the Third, Seventh and Eleventh Houses. It is rarefied air which usually surrounds those graced by this Element, as this is the marker of the intellectual. Airy people are smart thinkers and handle abstract reasoning well. They love to analyze, synthesize and probe. Do you have a dilemma? Hand it over to an Air Sign and watch them go to work.
Air Signs are also about communication. These individuals want to get the word out, and it's not likely to be fluff. They are alert, curious and perceptive. The world as seen by an Air Sign will be an interesting one, as their analysis and subsequent explanation (hopefully in terms we can understand) will indicate. Those influenced by Air are inventive and clever. They see all sides of the equation and are able to glean the best approach. Balance is important to these airy folk.
So, are Air Signers fresh as a summer breeze or howling like the wind? Probably both, depending on when you catch them. While these folks are often cool, calm and collected, they can turn cold if their equilibrium is upset. A word to the wise: there's little upside in baiting an Air Sign.
Another plus with Air is that it manifests itself in a most humane way. Those influenced by Air can truly wear another's shoes, as it were. They are objective, cooperative and really want to help make a better world. There's no prejudice with these folks, just a bright and shiny idealism which can accomplish much.
Air Signs are communicative, intellectual, clever and fair. They can blow hot and cold, though, so beware of a chilly draft!
The Qualities
Fixed
A Fixed Quality is attached to the Signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. The Fixed Houses are the Second, Fifth, Eighth and Eleventh; if an astrological chart shows a preponderance of Planets in these Houses, its energy is weighted toward fixity.
Fixed Signs understand that steadiness is the key. Those influenced by this Quality are happy to forge ahead with their projects, calmly working away until they have achieved their objectives. This is no struggle for Fixed folks, rather it's what makes them tick. These individuals are stable, determined and resolute. They want to get to the finish line and have the persistence and ability to concentrate, characteristics which will get them there.
There is no lack of confidence in Fixed individuals. Self-reliance could be a Fixed person's middle name. Those possessed of a Fixed nature are powerful, yet purposeful. There are no wasted motions here: Fixed folks move patiently and steadily toward their goals. They are also steady and reliable and always remember those who helped them out. Conversely, those born under a Fixed Sign can at times be stubborn, my-way-or-the-highway folks. They may have a tendency to get stuck in their ways and to believe that they are always right.
Those influenced by a Fixed Quality are determined, reliable and persistent. They have great strength, and strength of purpose, and love to get the job done. So what if they refuse to budge? They get results.
The Houses
The Eleventh House
House of Friendships
The Eleventh House is commonly referred to as the House of Friends. Through our friends, we find strength in numbers -- we see the power of the collective, the group. Groups addressed by this House include clubs, organizations, social groups, networking organizations and professional associations. The focus here is on the activities we undertake within these groups, how we make a difference and as a result, how we grow and actualize our true selves. Further, it's the group, by virtue of its collective strength, which helps to define what we as individuals will do.
As we grow, we have more opportunities and possibilities available to us, and the Eleventh House addresses these. Our interactions and efforts are in keeping with our priorities in life; these interactions have the ability to enhance our lives. A labor of love? Yes, in many ways. Through our friends and group activities we add substance and meaning to our lives and to society.
The Eleventh House also speaks to destiny -- in simple terms, our hopes and dreams, what we desire and what we want to achieve. Our creative vision is highlighted, the simple act of working toward our maximal selves. The power of collective creation, as well as the creative sparks generated by the group, are also important to this House. By banding together, we can create so much more.
In joining with our friends, we not only accomplish a great deal, but we can also enjoy the fruits of our labor. The Eleventh House also addresses the kind of friend we are: what do we do for others? How do we view our friends? How do they view us? It is our basic character which, to a great extent, defines the friends and groups we choose.
Oftentimes, we work with our friends toward a greater good and in the hope of improving society. This is our philanthropic side coming to the fore, the ability to selflessly and eagerly help others. It is also our humanity manifesting itself most effectively. At times, we may upset the proverbial apple cart, but the sum total of our efforts should be to look at the end result. If that's good, then the process of getting there, for better or for worse, is worthwhile. Lastly, the Eleventh House also governs stepchildren, foster children and adopted children.
The Eleventh House is ruled by the Sign Aquarius and the Planets Saturn and Uranus.
The Planets
Saturn Sign
Saturn: Planet of Karma
Saturn doesn't make things easy. That's the role of the taskmaster of the Zodiac. Saturn commands us to get to work and to work hard. Discipline and responsibility are important to this Planet, yet if we're eager to conquer the world, that's okay, too.
Much like Father Time, Saturn implores us to look at the clock (its glyph, after all, is the sickle of Chronos, the God of Time). Is there time for everything we want to do, or are there limits? Those limitations are important to Saturn, and we must learn to manage them. Restrictions are the province of this Planet, as is any form of discipline or delay.
In keeping with the passage of time, Saturn governs old age along with the lessons it teaches us. Learning life's lessons is key to this Planet, in keeping with its role as teacher. The majesty of older age also brings with it a certain sense of tradition, conventionality (our learned patterns of behavior) and wisdom, and Saturn is mindful of these characteristics. This Planet applauds our perseverance and the fact that we've withstood the test of time (yes, time comes up once again). This senior status further brings with it a measure of authority, and Saturn lords over that as well.
Structure, order and the way in which we conduct our affairs are all ruled by this ringed Planet. Contraction and the reining in of assets are also important here. Lastly, Saturn, again in its role as teacher, concerns itself with karma and the lessons which past experiences might bring.
It takes Saturn 28-30 years to complete its orbit of the zodiac. It is masculine energy and rules Capricorn and Aquarius and the Tenth and Eleventh Houses.
