Since the "If" part isn't true, it nulls the rest of the question. Some people may not have caught it the first time around because they may not now how to multiply correctly without electronic help.

Don't be dense. You're really caught up in base-10 math but use a base-2 device to ask a question? Math is just a language to use to describe logic, and just because 7x7=42 isn't in the language you're comfortable with doesn't make it any less valid, just as it wouldn't have made it any less valid to ask your question in Spanish or Mandarin. So it turns out that yes, you do need more math education to understand this.

well if seven times seven is forty-two, then eight times seven would be forty-nine, and ten times seven would be sixty-three etc etc... ... ...
