Who knows where to get discontinued legos from an actual store? Meaning not at an auction or from an independent seller. (NOT eBay, peeron, bricklink, lugnet, lego.com, brickset, DEFINETLY NOT etoys or KB Toys, but a good store)

The site below is that of a Lego collector who is selling sets he has extras of. I think the prices are in Euros but that shouldn't be a problem for you. The second site is a store that is located on Ebay.
You can check hobby shops too.

Well, the only things that comes to mind are yardsales and flea markets. You can barter for a lower price most of the time.

Try second hand stores, Salvation Army, etc. I found some for my grandson at a second hand store close to us.
