The only time you get anything (as far as items go) from PvP (player vs player) is if you fight someone in the battlegrounds. The body is lootable, but what you get is *not* from the player's inventory. Depending on the battleground, you'll get some coin, and perhaps a few items (mostly in Alterac Valley).
You'll earn honor points from the kill (and honor tokens, if in a battleground.) After this coming Tuesday (Dec 5), you'll be able to spend those items for PvP items (such as weapons & armor), instead of spending gold.

No, you do not receive their items, but if you are killing a person from the other faction (example if you are on the alliance and kill the horde or vice versa) you get a honor kill. With honor points you gain Player versus Player(PVP) ranking which you can use to buy dandy trinkets or armor.
