It's a tossup. As a loyal Democrat, I fear that the left wing loonies, wanting Al Sharpton's blessings, will embark on some politically suicidal path. Or try to pull the troops out now. They have to find some common ground with Bush. Bush, for his part, needs to reach out to them. I see neither event happening.

Hey, maybe they will surprise us. But I think not...

I doubt the Dem's will fumble. They know this is the big chance to permanently send the re pubs to the hinterlands so fumbles will be slapped down hard. You could see that in the voting down of murtha and Hastings over their past ethical screw ups. You will see minimum wage increase and a real investigation into Bush's screw ups not a witch hunt. They will definitely bring the countries finances back into balance. You needn't worry the plan is already in play and all will be well not that the media will present it that way as everything in Washington is presented like some stupid soap opera.

The democrats are already fumbling. They cannot seem to agree on much of anything and they are playing to their way liberal side. What got them into leadership is their conservative side and they refuse to recognize this. The republicans lost because they forgot to be conservatives. So I see the dems accomplishing nothing for two years and then they will be easy targets in 08.

Forget Demos and Repubs; things are so F--ked up, we better start acting as Americans or we'll be just as self-destructive as the Shiites and Sunnis.

Thanks to divisive politics, we're a 50-50 nation. But remember, we have to put country above party, and think about the welfare of ALL of us, from poor to rich. Let's stop calling environmentalists "tree huggers" and conservatives "robots".

We used to be the USA, America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

WE have to get back there before WE can legitimately offer the world solutions backed by the full power, science, technology, and morality of a nation that professes to be " One Nation, Under God".

Well if the democrats do we are totally screwed because the reason the democrats are in office is because the republicans fumbled the last 2-4 years. Who can we turn to next?

No way.Never.They will be better than this Administration with open ideas and excellent results.Democrats don't have any business in oil or other suspicious reconstructions ( Iraq) etc. that stuff make a big difference.

they have worked hard enough to gain the advantage that i expect good things from the dems. they wont be perfect and of course, they will make plenty of people mad but i think they will stay favorable enough to take the white house. bush screwed over his party. I know people who were republican until he came into office and they voted completely democrat this past election. so i honestly think that once bush is out of the picture, the parties will be pretty equal.
