It's not so much the brand as the tread. Everyone makes a variety of treads. Go to your tire store and check out the different treads.

I use Nan Kang XR611 tires they have very good grip in all weather and they ride very smooth. I have 16 inch tires on my Lumina Euro coupe so I need to use 225 60 16 they are a big tire size but my car handles very well. They have traction A Temp A and tread wear is 400. They cost $80.00 per tire at Mavis discount tire and they are $100 per wheel which includes mounting and balancing.

My husband worked at a tire store for five years he would recomend hakkapalitta wrs for all season winter tires. He also says if you drive in snow to buy winter tires rubber is softter and grips better.
