Cashing it means they give you a handful of cash. They are not putting it into any bank account - just into your hand.

The easiest check to cash is one that is made out to your name or to "CASH", not to someone else who signed it over to you.

You will need a valid photo id to do it. Go to any bank or casino or supermarket to have the check cashed.

DO NOT go to a check-cashing place! They are a rip-off!!

Simply bring your check with a picture ID (driver's license or state-issued ID) to the bank the check is drawn on, and cash it there. It'll be free, except for your time.

I'd recommend that you get a checking account, preferrably at a credit union. It's easy to do, and you can open an account with as little as $100. It'll make your life a lot easier in the long run.

To find out why, how to open a checking and savings account, and the rules to having a checking account, get "Personal Finance 101 - A Beginner's Guide" from www.GoldenRocFinancial.com or Amazon.com. There'a a wealth of information in that book that can help you get very wealthy.

Enjoy!
