Got most the credit for yelling " the British are coming", but in reality he only rode something like 6 or 8 miles. The real hero was a guy named....DANG!!!! I cannot remember his name, but he road something like 40 miles and told many more people but P.R is giving most, if not all the credit because his name was more "American sounding" I'll try to find the other guys name for you.

He was famous for the "midnight ride" when he was paid to ride inland from from Charleston to warn the militias that the British army was advancing to Lexington and Concord. He didn't say "The British are coming" he said "The regulars are out". It was because of his warnings that the British were defeated.

he didn't do anything that important. I think he got arrested. He was doing his job with three other people, and one fo the others suceeded in warning people about the british. So I guess he tried but failed to warn people about th ebritish coming.
