My doctor told me last week (I was 37 weeks), that I could go into labor at anytime & that I should also be passing my mucous plug since I am a little more than 1 cm. Well, what I think is my mucous plug is not bloody or even tinged. It looks like thick yellowish discharge. Does anyone know if what I'm experiencing is in fact my mucous plug?? Cause I thought it had to be bloody & very blob-like????? Sorry for the details I'm just really confused

Thanx :)

That is exactly what mine looked like. A big blob of slimy yellow snot. That is probably what it was don't worry. You will be fine. You will probably keep seeing a few pieces for the next couple days or until you deliver...at least that is what mine did. Best of luck and an early congrats.

Sometimes people don't even know when they pass their plug. I don't remember with my first, but with my second, it was pretty much a think, jelly-like discharge. I lost it 3 weeks before I had the baby. I was also 2 cm dialated for 2 weeks. So passing the plus AND being dialated don't necessarily mean you should expect labor to come any second. It may still be weeks. (Sorry to disappoint! I just know I was expecting labor pretty soon after dialating, ect. but it doesn't always work that way.) Good luck! :)

When I lost mine I lost it a little at a time and it looked like snot with spots of blood and I havent even dialated yet and I lost mine about two weeks ago. But sometimes people don't even loose their mucous plug so just ask your doctor they would know.

It can be a blood tinged snot like glob of mucus or it could be a clearish color. You may have only passed a small portion of it and the rest is yet to come. Good Luck and happy thoughts while in labor.
