In my dream the horse(auburn colored) was following me with a man riding it. The man got off the horse and it continued to follow me. Then an elderly woman came and took the horse away. What does this signify?

Sometimes/in some cultures the horse represents fertility and/or a means or rite of passage. Literally, a horse is an animal used to transport a person, like a vehicle only a natural one.
The transitory elements in your dream (man riding it, woman takes it off, man gets off horse, horse follows you) suggests that the horse is in fact a vehicle for change.
