My view is, if one country has them, all countries should be allowed to have them.

I believe that the US doesn't have the right to tell any country that they cannot have nukes and for the one simple fact that the US has nukes, and that is 100% being hypocritical if you ask me we have them yet you can't that to me is being a bully and here is the kicker if necessary we will use the nukes too being the only country that has attacked another country with a nuclear weapon. Now I know you are going to say Iran is a threat and they might use it against us or one of the few allies we have left that is close to Iran, but we really don't have the right to tell them no when we still have a stockpile of them sitting around the entire country. I am in no way a radical or anything like that to the contrary I believe myself to be quite the patriot and in regards to that I firmly believe that this country has no right bullying any country around no matter how weak or strong they may be.

I personally believe that the Iranians are trying to build status among the worlds powers and superpowers, seeing as how the Persian Empire was one of the first and they had been proud of that until Alexander the Great conquered them. Even after they had fallen many more times the people never forgot the greatness they once had in the entire world, they just want to be popular again and they think some nukes are going to do that. I do know that the guy running things over there is pretty nutty and has said some trying things that relate to US interests but what about Kim Jong Il or whatever his name is ain't got it all together over there in North Korea, but maybe they believe the nukes mean status as opposed to WWIII. I know we have some kind of sanctions with N. Korea that make life hard there and maybe even the same in Iran. Maybe they just want to try and be cool again in the eyes of the rest of the world. Then again maybe I am some psycho crackpot as well but I would like to think not.

When you think about it, how does a country or entity apply for or obtain to get the "right" to posses nukes? How was India and Pakistan, for example, able to obtain this right where it didnt 'exist' before? I think the only reason is a balance of power thing- like US, France and Britain balancing Soviet Union and China. So if Iran can argue they need a balacing arsenal against someone else (and they would probably mention Israel,) then they could claim a 'right'. BUT, since in the real world might makes right, Iran would probably meet with great deterring forces to having nukes. (at least hopefully- there are too,too many nukes as it is.)

This would place nukes in the hands of terrorists. If you live in a USA city I would be wondering if my city would be next. Dirty bombs, nuke warheads etc would be coming right down our alley. Unless everyone thinks Iran's President has sunshine, peace, love and harmony in mind. Also he didn't say Britain, the USA and Israel needed annihilated, according to the Iranian news. Right!! I think the world leaders are going to twiddle their thumbs until it is to late. Give an insane man a gun and tell him not to shoot when you know he is homicidal. Yippee!!!!

Sure ! Why not?

Iran has just called for the wiping of Israel off the face of the earth and the destruction of the United States.
Why not give them the means to accomplish that?

If Pakistan which supports terrorism while pretending not to is allowed nuclear weapons, than Iran should also.

No ... with the country so unpredictable, and for the reason that they want them to wipe a country off the face of this world ... I would think, some one else would be next ... maybe the US.

Many Democrats on Yahoo were bashing Bush for trying to stop Iran from acquiring nukes.
They believe that it's only "fair" for Iran to have them.
So one must assume that these Democrats must think it's only "fair" for Iran to sell nukes to terrorists to blow us up.
Whats "fair is fair", eh?
"Democrats Care".

I believe any country has the right to develop arms to maintain and protect their sovereignty. It is having the restraint to not use them is the issue.

Well, if communist China has the right to nukes as a sovereign nation, I suppose Iran does too. I wouldn't be nearly as worried about it if our president had not caused so much resentment against the US throughout the middle east.
