How many years of education does a family practitioner (D.O.) have to go through? Can you explain in detail; don't just say 12 yrs. Like how many years at what, etc.

Any schools recommended? What do I have to do to get into that school?

Premed - 4 years
Med (DO) school : 4 years
FP residency : 3 years

There are a lot of good DO schools.

To get into any graduate med school (DO/MD), you have to do VERY well in your premed courses. For MD school, you need the MCAT exam, I'm not sure about DO school.

A DO or Doctor of Osteopathy is a physician. I'm pretty sure they take the MCAT just as an MD would.

There are way fewer Osteopathy schools than there are medical schools so you'll have less options. I have heard that Osteopathy schools are a little easier to get into the med schools.

4 years of HS. 4 yrs of college (majoring in biology or pre-med). 4 yrs of medical school. Followed by 2 yrs of specialization if you plan on specializing in a specific area. (will not be necessary if your going to General Practitioner). And the residency (lasting from 1 yr -2yr)
