I decided to start to play guitar and have no knowledge of music.
My main wish is to play for myself in short run but do something in music industry in future. Actually I wish guitar will help me to sing better, while playing it.
The type of music I like is mostly rock, pop-rock, alternative and classical music.
What kind of a guitar (acoustic, classical, electro) do you suggest to begin with? And which brand you suggest?
with?

An acoustic would be a good place to start partly because you can play them anywhere(no need for an amplifier). Also because they sound so sweet. Since you haven't developed any finger callouses yet, a classical would be easier on the fingers, but since your musical tastes trend towards rock and rockish then i would suggest a steel string acoustic. Excellent brands are Yamaha, Takamine, Fender. Yamaha has a few lower priced models that are really very good. If you want to spend more you might consider a Taylor or a Martin.

Electrics can often be easier to play for beginners because they can use lighter gauge strings which are easier to fret. A good old Fender Squier Strat would be where i would start if i was a beginner. There are a lot of package deals with a guitar, amp, picks, polishing cloth, etc. Especially this time of year. Guitar Center is a great place to look because they have nearly everything and they always have sales.

Good Luck with your music career. And remember, just because you have no musical knowledge now doesnt mean you cant be great. Everybody has to start somewhere.

i suggest starting with a classical, because the nylon strings are so much gentler on your fingers, which is important for someone who hasn't played before. don't get an electric because the landscape gets clouded with issues of amplifiers and effects and so on that the beginner doesn't need to worry about. as far as brand goes, the longer i play (26 years now) the more i realize that your choice of guitar is rightly based on how the thing feels and sounds to you when you pick it up and play it. i just bought a Crafter acoustic-electric--i had never even heard of the brand but that guitar was sweet in my hands and i love it. reputation of the maker is important but i'd say the formula should be 10% maker and 90% the way it feels and sounds to you. for a beginner, i'd suggest getting a cheap classical and playing it till you master the basics; then you will be able to decide better for yourself which brand and style suits you after that and will know what you're looking for in the feel.

don't worry about brands for your first guitar, buy something kinda cheap that feels comfortable to hold, you dont want to buy an expensive *** guitar and not be able to play it and give up or something. and definitely start with acoustic, electric is easier to pick up later. check places like guitar center or any used instrument places. pawn shops sometimes have good ones too, lots of people sell them first for drugs or whatever, and people steal them alot too, so some good stuff shows up there, dont be afraid of pawn shops. enjoy.

If I were you, I would start out with a Gibson acoustic guitar. I used to work for this company and they made a quality guitar.

Practice, practice, practice.
