I had to reload windows, deleting everything on my computer & restoring it. I have an emachines pc, so I don't have the Windows XP disk, only the emachines disks. My computer no longer has a calculator. I tried to add it back from the add/remove section & it told me to insert my Windows XP disk. I put my emachines disk in, but it couldn't find anything. I need that calculator. Plus, my Internet Explorer icon is gone. I have Internet Explorer. I have to click "updates" for it to pull up a browser for me to use. I searched & it pulled up all of the Explorer folders, but there is no icon for a shortcut anywhere. How can I get my icon for this?

You can run any program from the Start->Run box.
Click Start.
Select Run
Type the name of the program
For the calculator, type calc.
For Internet Explorer, type iexplore.

But it sounds like something is amiss with your restoration of the operating system. The calculator should be found in the Programs->Accessories menu. IE should have an icon on your desktop.
