Although earth is not shaped like a completely smooth circle, it sure is not shaped like an egg. Eggs are rounded at the bottom and have a tight curve at the top. Ask gravity, he'll confirm it.

Earth is round because of pressure pushing down on it from every direction. Not one angle is not under the universes pressure. A spherical shape is formed becasue it has the same amount of pressure pushing down on one part of it as it does on any other part. Here's something for you: try filling a cup with water and tossing the water up in the air, as the water separates, the drops and parts of liquids still together will form into a spherical shape because of all of the pressure.
