I went to a restaurant yesterday with a big group of people, and then I left. It wasn't untill I got home that I realised I hadnt payed. What can I do? Will I get caught? How serious is it? (The meal cost $17 NZ) Would I get in more trouble if I went back to pay today?

As a food server, you don't know what it's like when someone genuinely forgets or just walks out, which is rare. It totally sucks. Sometimes, depending on the managers, WE are forced to pay for your meal. Usually not. So please go back. By the way, you will not be in trouble, the all the foodservers in that restaurant will probably drop straight down to their knees when you come back to pay a bill you forgot about. :-))))))

No....I'm sure you will not get in trouble if you go back today and pay today. I've been in the service industry for many years and trust me..most of the time it comes out of our own pocket and we are just thankful that we get it back. P.S.....don't forget to leave a tip:)

You should go back and pay your tab.Just explain what happened, I'm sure they will take your money. Think about it, # 1 what comes around goes around, and #2 if you don't go back and pay the tab you cant go back to that establishment EVER !!!

It's the right thing to go back & pay.

Just tell them what happened & that you may not have paid.
