I am not a moderator of the board but someone keeps posting malicious messages and I would like to know if I am able to trace them anyhow. Thanks so much.

You can't unfortunately but get in touch with whoever moderates the board and inform them. It happened with me on here and I reported it to Yahoo in California and the person hasn't been on here for two days. Think they will only ban someone if the stuff they put on the board is really sick like his was though.

nope. unless the administrator of the board has allowed you to see the ip addresses ,you'd be unable to do so

report the messages to the moderators/owners of the board.
if they continue then let the owner/moderators that they are doing a good enough job in monitoring their forums and dont bother using that forum until they deal with their abusers.

In the UK somebody was recently murdered after a disagreement in a chat room!

The murderer and his accomplice tracked the guy down through his online personal details, (although i don't think they were smart enough to actually use his IP), went to his house and killed him...to be honest the net's a safer place with a bit of anonymity!

By the way, they both got life in prison for it...so i don't think you want to be trying to track people down, or being tracked down yourself to be honest!!!

I fully agree with Arus's answer. Tell the moderator and if they dont ban the person then pick another Forum.
