Hi,
I think everyone gets depressed at some time or another, sometimes it's hardwired into our brains and sometimes it's because of events that hurt or disappoint us, or both.
I get depressed sometimes when I feel that no matter how well I take care of my ill parents, when something happens, I feel like it is my fault, although I know logically it is not.
But the despair and hopelessness can creep up on me if I'm not careful. How often it happens to me is relegated to how often my parents have the potential to die that day and by the Grace of God, don't.
When I get depressed, I look to all the great things in my life that are usually taken for granted.
I serve a great God who loves me.
I have little doubt how much I am loved by my parents, friends and pets.
God gave me a good brain and I am thankful and use it to help others.
He gave me a body that works well and usually obeys me.
I have a great appreciation for the talents and gifts of others.
I can walk, talk, laugh, see beautiful things, feel the wind on my skin, listen to the birds or the rain.
I volunteer wherever I can and do good things for people in secret. I have found bringing hope to those who are in great despair lifts me up.
Try using your talents to help others with mo expectation of reward.
The reward you receive will be your freedom from depression.
God Bless you

have you been to see your doctor?some depression can be temporary due to seasonal change, death of a loved one and even small things which can gradually build up leading to bouts of depressing, typically if you have been depressed for two weeks or more or are having reoccurring depression you could be diagnosed with clinical depression anything longer than that could be chronic . some pain meds also can leave you depressed as well as hormone therapy and some anti- depressant however my best advise is to give your md a call and let him or her call the shots ,I'm still going through the wringer with severe depression and have Little experience with this subject good luck....

About once a month, I also crave chocolate and potato chips at the same time. Go figure. Yeah, I know, I was just kidding. Most women get a little depressed once a month. NOT ALL but most. Chocolate helps a lot.

I try and be a very optimistic person and try not to let life and the problems it comes with bring me down. I honestly do try and find something good in the bad things that happen, so to answer your question I rarely suffer from depression at all, but I am human and it arises from time to time.

Around the holidays. Although I have a great life, around this time of year, I get sad, because it's the time of the year when I lost my friend and mentor, Jelly Jam Jar Johnson.

at least twice a year. I think it's normal. A time to reflect on what life is triing to teach me. Then I pick myself back up and keep trucking. Roll over life don't let it roll over you. Good Luck. You only got a short time here you better find a way to enjoy it before it's over.
