Clayton from Houston, TX here. We call ourselves Texans. Who calls themselves Southerners nowadays anyway?

The "South" is a reference to backward thinking in my mind and racism. I would not want to affiliate myself with such a derrogative nomenclature of racist pigs. I am sure there are plenty of 60+ year olds that still refer to themselves as Southerners and Texans.

We do still have Southern Hospitatlity :)

Texans generally consider themselves to be Texans, from when Texas used to be The Republic of Texas, before joining the Union.

properly i became born and raised in Texas yet i imagine maximum Texans truly have a lot pride of their state. I stay contained in the scarce section the position you advance cattle and what no longer and that i'd say maximum of them call themselves Texan previously they call themselves American.

If they could they'd be a country unto themselves. I think they tried that once didn't they but Mexico kicked their butt so they came crying back to the Union with their tails tucked between their legs. Don't listen to me though - I don't know my history.
