Yes there are I"m a 47 year old male and have read every book and seen every film. When the books are released I'm there at midnight getting mine. I don't stand in long lines at Barnes and Nobel or borders or some place like that. A lot of the older readers of the series have found out that the local supermarket also sells books, so maybe 15 or 20 of use stand in line inside the market in our PJ'S pick up the book speculate about the story line. Most of my friends read them in line while waiting to pay for them. But I don't I grab some snacks walk the half block home with some of my Harry Potter loving neighbors sit in my favorite chair and let the adventure begin. I also have all the films on DVD. If anyone thinks I need to get a life.....I do I go out with women quite often and enjoy their company very much I just happen to enjoy a great story as well.

Absolutely! In fact, in July 2007 in Philadelphia, and August 2007 in Toronto, there are symposia on the Harry Potter series, open to adults only (kids 14 and older may only attend with a parent, and they are warned that they have to be able to sit through university-style lectures as a part of the convention). They will be packed with people, you can be sure!

Here is website that you might like, which is an educated adult's analysis of the Chamber of Secrets book. The same author, John Granger, has written books which discuss the merits of the series, and analyzes the imagery in them.

Me and my husband love the books, we are in our 30's, too, and we are going to the symposium with my aunt and my mother, who are in their 40's and 50's!

Hell, yeah! I am 36 and am near-obsessed. I reserve the books as early as I can, then go to the midnight party in the bookstore to pick them up. I don't even pretend that it's for a younger relative. I see the movies. I wear the T-shirts. And honestly, did you read the Half-Blood Prince? (I know you did.) That was a little heavy and dark for kids, don't you think? It seemed to me that JK Rowling started realizing that she has a post-adolescent fanbase and is writing for us now too.

I'm older, and YES! I also have several friends that are also older than you, and they feel the same way! Ironically, none of us have any kids, and the friends that I have that do have kids, don't like Harry Potter!?!?!?

Started reading them because of my step daughter. Can't wait to see how the next movie is done. "Return of the Jedi" of HP books. Only has a happy ending because MOST of 'em get out alive.

And i usually HATE fantasy/Sci-fi crap.
