A yeast infection can cause itching. There is usually some kind of discharge and burning when you urinate, but not always. Try some OTC Monistat. It can be used during your period if the itching is bad, if not then wait until your flow has decreased or your period stops completely.

Yeast infections are not sexually transmitted and rather common for females, particularly if you wear tight pants, stay in a wet bathing suit after swimming for a long time, or are on antibiotics. It is just an overgrowth of normal yeast within your vagina. Try to wear looser clothing and cotton underwear often. Yes, you can still continue your regular running/exercise regimen with a yeast infection.

If the itching and/or discomfort haven't gone away after treatment, see your doctor.

You have a yeast infection, or the start of one. Dont douche and clean the area with baking soda and warm water on a washcloth a couple times a day. You can also buy some cream for the itching, although you probobly need to buy some monistat or the like (yeast infection medicine). The number by the name means how many days you need to take it, the smaller the number, the more expensive the treatment. Example: Monistat 7 is a 7 day treatment, Monistat 3 is a 3 day treatment. Also, wear cotton underwear. The tampons or pads may be causing this problem, you might just be sensitive.

You may have thrush, this can come about just before a period and disappear afterwards. ( you can still run!) But if it hasnt cleared afterwards get yourself to the well womans clinic (dont no if its different in the usa if your there,) if its thrush and it dosent go,or anything else then you have to get it sorted. your health is the most important thing in life to you!

It sounds like you may have contracted somthing.

Even if it was 6 months ago, it doesn't matter. A lot of STD's & STI's never have symptoms, or else the symptoms don't come for months later.

Go to a doctor ASAP.

Sounds like a yeast infection. You can get them from wiping the wrong way. Get the over-the-counter medicine. It works great.

it sounds like a yeast infection...I would need to know more of the symptoms, but thats what it sounds like. I would definitely go to the doctor as soon as possible, it wont clear up on its own, it may appear to clear up, but you may cause damage elsewhere. good luck!
