I hope that people are proud to be whatever they are and whomever they are as long as they add something positive to the mix. Why should someone who's white be ashamed of that fact? It's not like we have a choice in the matter when we're conceived. There is no superior race so I think that allows everyone to be proud of themselves, but in reality it should be for some accomplishment that they've achieved. I'm not ashamed for what some black people do (have done) and neither should a white person be ashamed for what another white person does or has done.

As proud as any other race, I suppose. All races have a past that they could be ashamed of. What my ancestors did or didn't do doesn't reflect who I am. The color of a man's skin isn't what's important. It's your choices and actions that make you what you are.
PS. I was raised by a great black man from the time I was 10 till he died when I was a teenager. Jelly Jam Jar Johnson took me in when I ran away from home and gave me a purpose in life, blues guitar. I have a low tolerence for racists and narrow minded people.

neither proud nor ashamed. I am happy with myself and what I had. However, I do suppose that I am glad I am white. I feel priveleged in many ways. I guess it's just because I know white people can be kind racist, so I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of it

Proud? I was born the way I am and being proud would be the same as being proud that I am 6' tall or have 2 legs. Dumb. I did nothing to get that way, it just happened! So what be proud for?

I don't really care. The colour of your skin is a totally pointless thing to be proud or ashamed of, I think

I'm proud of who I am and what I accomplish. But I've never thought of myself as particularly proud specifically because I'm white. I don't think being white makes me any better or any worse than anyone else, after all.

I'm mystified! Really sometimes I think "why?"
Why was I born with so much in a land of milk and honey and accepted for what I am? How come I've not been born a nondescript oriental living in squalor? How come I'm not fighting a drought and mercenaries in Rwanda? How come I'm here and not there?
I am grateful for my life white, yellow, red, brown, black, pigments of my flesh is not something I've given much thought...but where I am is still something that mystifies me!

I don't really care, but I realize that it is what I was born, therefore I accept who I am. Quite honestly, I don't think the color of skin should really matter ever. People are people, everyone of us has feelings, emotions, a past, a present...etc...it just depends on how you carry yourself throughout life.

I am cool with it. I am definitely proud of my ancestry that left Europe and came here for freedom. I'm proud of my heritage, but my race? There is no superior race. No reason to be proud or not!
