Mothballs work, but they don't smell nice. Cedar wood balls are supposed to deter moths, but I don't know how effective they are.
I have a book of hints which suggests washing woollen items in a mixture of 8oz soap flakes, a cupful of meths & 3 dessertspoonful of eucalyptus oil per gallon of warm water (do not rinse) - I think this would smell nearly as bad as the mothballs! A more fragrant alternative is to put some dried orange peel or allspice berries in your drawer. Apparently the moth eggs can be killed with ammonia (also pongy)

Clothes can develop holes in many ways. It's possible that you don't have moths at all. There are several types of bugs that eat natural fibers, but usually with all of them, including moths, you'll know what the problem is because you'll see the offending bugs in your house. If you look around inside the wardrobe and you see moths or other insects, it will help you to know what to do. If the jumper is the only article of clothing in your wardrobe that you're seeing holes in, it's highly unlikely that it's a moth problem. Other articles of clothing would have been infected too. If the jumper is something you wear frequently, that makes it even more unlikely to have been a moth problem. There is a website that is really good at helping with bug problems. If you do see a moth or other bug, you can email a description or picture to the bugman on this website and he can tell you what it is and how to get rid of it.

I tink there's something called Moth balls which you put in your wardrobe( be careful not put them in contact with your clothes). vacuum everywhere & get rid of vac bags & place new ones, wash everything in hot water to get rid of eggs. Sorry that's all I know. But if it's really bad, call the council or experts for advice.

You have to put moth balls in your wardrobe, but I should warn you, you'll have a job catching them to cut them off.

ooh, I had this example previously and it became a toughie. They make lavender scented moth ball issues in satchet form packs, also cedar blocks help. yet, it would surely help in case you initiate by washing all of your outfits in warm water(discomfort i comprehend) and once sparkling, placed the cedar or lavender issues in all of your drawers/closets. also, enable as a lot mild in parts that you carry close your outfits for a lengthy time period. yet u gotta wash and sparkling first of all. reliable luck.
