would an increase in human population explain an increase in Co2 emissions. if the large number of people alone is causing the the high levels of CO2 how do we solve this problem.

That definitely has something to do with it but I would still point to coal and oil burning facilities as well as car emissions not to mention the clear cutting of vast amounts of fertile trees to take in that the Co2 and plenty of other factors too, the amount of people probably isn't the main reason though of course I am no expert by any means but I would call it an Educated Guess.

Not entirely-- Those 6 BB people + all the Co2 they emit from consumption of things-- power, gasoline, products, etc.

US and European countries create the largest amount of polution yet they're not as big population-wise as other countries.

Not really.. those six billion are cold idiots for the most part.. very few of them are warm and kind hearted individuals

Human population alone has nothing to do with global warming. It's what the human population does to destroy the environment that has everything to do with it.
