Production
The movie will begin production immediately after Zac Efron finishes Hairspray. All of the original film's cast members will return and there will be new music and choreography by director Kenny Ortega. A soundtrack CD will be released the week before the film airs.
A teaser trailer was released during The Cheetah Girls 2006 tour. The trailer showed scenes from the first film and the logo said High School Musical and a "2" appeared next to the word "Musical". The trailer was first made publically available on the DVD release of Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior .
Bill Borden, producer of High School Musical, has said that High School Musical was originally planned as a three-part telefilm.

Yes, they are and its going to take place at a summer lodge. All Cast will be in it, and some others, including Ashley Tisdale's dog, Blondie! Its suppose to be a good one with fresh dances, music, and acts. Can't wait, can you?

Yes, they r. It is supossed to come out next yr. It probly wont be that good though . I luv HSM but sequles usally arnt as good as the 1st ones.

Yeah! It's true well you might not believe me but I actually know some of the people in high school musicel before they became famous and we talk in stuff! So any way yeah, it's true!!!!!!! So be on the look out!!!!
