whats happened to my computer. it will not shut down?

it will not shut down everytime i press the right shut down keys.it just comes back to life again. so i shut it down by switching off at the wall plug.you are not supposed to do that are you its a new computer so i know iam doing something wrong

Sometimes computers (new and old) will do this. You can use the power button on the tower and hold this button down for about 10-20 seconds to shut the computer down. You may also (if need be) use the power line to the wall to shut the computer down. Once you have shut it down I recommend restart and go to www.grisoft.com and download the free AVG antivirus and free AVG adware programs to help clean your computer from any malware/spyware/or viruses that may result in shutdown issues. Another good free program can be downloaded at www.lavasoft.com, and is called Ad-Aware. Good luck and keep working at it - you will learn and become more capable with every attempt to correct the issue. Also, make sure to shutdown and restart you computer each day to maintain the automatic updates for AVG and Ad-Aware, as well as Windows updates, to better ensure that your computer experience is a postive and productive one. 9 times out of 10, you can fix these problems, so dont be hard on yourself, just keep working at it and you will have success!! could be a few things

overzealous program
program not finsihed running
a program error
or some conflict
to name a few things off the top of my head

when you click start than loggoff/shutdown
and it comes back to life
press ctrl alt delete keys
a box should appear with several tabs at the top
the main box at bottom will show you what cpu is being used (bottom)
in the bigger box it will show what if any programs are running
take note of any programs there, click on programs listed than end task below them in box
reboot and see if they appear again when you shutdown,logg off
could be a problem with the program or file

i would also check device manager for a yellow icon next to anything.

Click start then click turn off computer then wait and three boxes will appear click shut down,and it will turn off,or right click bottom bar andclick on task manager it will have shut down on that

THERE IS A BUTTON ON THE TOWER THAT WILL SHUT IT DOWN , IT'S DONE NO HARM TO MINE , THAT HAPPENED TO ME A LOT AND I FOUND OUT IT WAS A BAD VIRUS

if you left some tabs open it wont until it closes them but the proper one is click start and turn off.that way it stores all your settings.i would contact seller tell them the problem
