Last January, we had the coldest winter in over 30 years - and living in central Alaska, let me tell you - that's f*ing MISERABLE.
This November, we haven't hit any record lows yet, but the entire month has been unusually cold.
I'm old enough (gads) to remember the scientific community being all up in arms in the 70s about the next ice age coming and how we were all going to freeze to death. I just don't get excited anymore about the "latest" scientific BS.
Oh, and I drive a big-*** truck. Huge. Enormous. (F350 Crew Cab Powerstroke Diesel - LOVE IT) I also have a small farm and NEED said big truck to haul critters, tractors, etc. Does this mean I don't care about the environment? According to quite a few liberals, it does. They don't bother to find out of someone has a need for a large truck or SUV - they just assume that I'm a horrible person. What a crock.

I don't know, I am not an expert, but I think it's that conservatives just feel there are more important things to worry about. I for one do not believe in global warming, I think the things that are happening are just natural, and the world will start being colder over time, etc...I would rather see the government getting this war overwith than worrying about Global Warming...

Well let me say to all the people who talk about oh it was so cold here the last winter there is no global warming let me direct you to this website to dispel that foolishness.

Now is global warming real. Probably I trust the vast majority of scientests on this one and not unstudied people on yahoo answers who think because winter was cold there is no global warming. I think there is responsible things everyone can do that will not effect there lives so terribly. I would like to err on the side of caution in this one and try to stop a possible catstrophe.
However if the vast majority of scientists tell me global warming is b.s. than I will believe that. I'll listen to the experts.

Cons **seem** to be less concerned about the environment-- not w/out care of it. Libs are more worried about it and of course you have to count the wacho sierra and green peace tree huggers in all that. They're the extreme.
Its not terribly different than gun control/laws. Righties are rabid about guns. Most reasonable libs are ok with gun ownership but its not a free-for-all.

I'm in favor of protecting the environment. I just want decisions to be made on the basis of scientific reality, not loud irrational screams.

Ann Coulter once said regarding the environment " God said take earth, rape it, it's yours." I hope the majority of conservatives don't feel this way. I think some don't care and most aren't ready to sacrifice luxuries to save the environment.

We are just not insane about it. For example someone on the "holiday" thread said he puts up a plastic Christmas tree so he won't damage the environment. What they FAIL to see is the forrests HAVE to be thinned out due to fire danger. Libs in my state think it's more important for fish to spawn than it is for farmers to irrigate their crops. Come on people, a little common sense would be appreciated.
