I have heard many people comment and most African Americans agree that saying it with an a is fine, but saying it with an er is bad. I believe that no matter how you say it, the n-word means that a black personw as going to be raped, killed, or hung. Using it is awful. www.abolishthenword.com

The meaning behind it is the context in which it is used. Black people say it with an "a" at the end. Basically claiming that it is something they turned into a term of endearment within the black community.
The n word does not mean that a black person was going to be raped, killed, or anything else. It means ignorant. Look it up in the dictionary.
Personally, I don't think anyone should say it, regardless to what color they are or what context they use it in.

Since they are the ones that have to deal with where and why the name was used at 1st then they have the right to say if and when it can be used again even if that means they changed it some, but it would make some since that it is accepted better by some not all blacks because this means they have the power over the word no which is the whole point they are trying to gain the power they were denied in the past, this is how my human services professor explained it.

I think the word should never be used. And although I'll get thumbs down for this, I'm sure the word may have died long ago, but we hear it all the time from... black people. Repetition works. Repetition works.

It doesnt matter if its "er" or "a" it's a derragatory word created by the oppressors of African people. Just as "*****" and "African-American".

I have never understood that Black people can use it but have a stroke if White people use.

If it is a fowl word, why use it at all?? When they casually use it, it makes others think its alright, of course it's not..

I will never understand it.

i agree with you that no matter how you say it, it's bad. Because it doesn't matter how you say it, it's what you meant that matters. And when you say it a different way, it's pretty much like ur giving urself an excuse to be a racist. And racist ppl are just stupid.
