just curious. feel free to answer if you know someone who has shot another person. i've known people in both groups and i want to know if my experience is strange. yes the shooter went to prison, btw.

My father was a cop. He shot people but I don't think he was ever shot. I have acquaintances who have been shot and shot other people but I wouldn't call them my friends. One guy shot someone in a hunting accident and is now in jail for manslaughter since it wasn't hunting season and he waited too long to report it- oh, he also didn't have a hunting or gun permit.

When I was 10 years I witnessed the brother of my best friend get shot in the head by a guy that drove up in front of their apartment in a big green car I was about 30 yards away and I remember everything except I draw a blank at the moment of impact (a safety device I guess) and I remember the fire truck hosing away all the blood and stuff that was on the ground. That was 32 years ago and I can still see it in my head it has faded some and I hope for a day that I can not see the image at all.

who doesnt know someone who has either been shot or that has shot someone
not many dont .. imho..
my brother shot a friend while out hunting one day, they were messing around while hunting from what i gathered, he had some shotgun shot in his side and stuff,
and my great grandpa got shot by a guy who was robibng him on the street one day, a pocket watch in his pocket deflected the bullet enough to miss his heart barely and he recovered fine no problem
he was a tough old man :D he would be 104 if he were still in this world he worked every day of his life until the last one

My dad shot himself in the hand once.My cousins ex was a police officer and he had scars on his chest from the bullet wounds.Ive never known a shooter before.

I know someone who's been shot. That person was my father, he lived but if the bullet had been just and inch more over he'd have died. And someone who tried to shoot himself as an act of suicide and failed although when later fired the gun outside it fired.

well, i know the shooter and the person he killed.
and i know for sure at least one person in the army that has killed someone.

my friend was killed when i was little, he was found in the trunk of a car about a week later
