Check out the forums on Doom9.net, and you'll find several good freeware programs that will do what you're asking. Even some CD burning suites, such as Nero 6+7, and Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 can do what you're asking... so you might want to check out programs you might already have on your system just in case. VSO software also has fully-functional trial downloads of their products, and are worth checking out.

For DVD decrypting, you can try the one-click DVDFab Decrypter, or try a collection of freeware which is controlled by a freeware program called RipIt4Me: Either of these are regularly updated, and can get around some of the more pesky copy-protection schemes. Of course, to be complete, I'll need to state that the intention of these programs is to back up legaly-owned materials so that you can keep your originals safe from damage. I'm not endorsing piracy of any type by this response.

winavi.com for the conversion from avi to dvd. it also lets you convert other numerous file types to other file types too. you will need to pay after the trial, but you just get the reg code off limewire or something of course.
