I don't think so. I think the waiter is paying you a form of social respect, small as it is. It is like a gentleman opening a door for a lady,stranger or not it is a small sign of respect for the opposite gender. It has nothing to do with the weaker sex myth, just a little bit of respect.That's all it is and I think that's all the waiter is doing.Nothing to do with the race myth. Accept it, the man is paying you a small respect.

Well, you aren't with the waiter/waitress every minute that they are at work every day, so therefore you cannot reasonably say that the waiter/waitress says "Hello" to EVERY White customer.

No, its called adapting to the environment in an attempt to relate or try to relate to the indvidual circumstance. In other words he or she is just trying to kiss A$$. I would rather that people just be themselves.
