Extremely dangerous situation you put yourself in. I became friends with a man who was training my child. I thought it was perfectly harmless and was I so wrong. I can remember to the day when that harmless situation turned into disaster. I fell in love with this man and almost wrecked my marriage on a person who really wasn't who he said he was. I really believe that you should not get involved in any "friendship" with the opposite sex because it is not worth it. Find yourself a friend of the same sex and prevent yourself from a lot of problems.

I feel whether you are married, living together or just seriously dating that you should never have any friendships with people of the opposite sex, that is not work related and even then, your partner should know about these people. If a person can not be totally open and honest about what is going on in their daily lives and be willing to avoid situations they know could cause problems later on then they shouldn't begin to start with.
Marriages or any other serious relationships which can handle opposite sex friendships are very very rare.

Obviously not. There's just too much temptation to take the chance. People have been in totally Innocent friendships that over time just got out of hand. These relationships can happen EVEN if the married party is in a "good marriage". Getting caught up in the moment is common.
If the spouse is aware and is involved in the friendship, things can remain defused since everyone knows what's going on. That's the big thing, everyone (you, me and he or she) know exactly what's up.

If you love and trust your spouse so much, why would a friend need to be a secret same or opposite sex? That is a prelude to disrespect. Imagine not knowing about a secret best friend your spouse has. Besides, if your friendship becomes an affair, your probrably gonna hide it anyway. If that is not the case, why all the secrecy? I never let women pick my friends for me, but I take heed if they see something I may not.

If it really is just a friendship theres no reason for their spouse to not know. If there IS a reason to keep it from their spouse, that means deep down (or sometimes not so deep...) its not really just a friendship. Married people can have frienships with people of the opposite sex, but there should be no secrets about it.

even inspite of the actuality that those 2 consenting adults look to no longer be romantically in contact...it remains incorrect for the married one to no longer tell about the relationship. after all, no matter if it really is in straight forward words a friendship, WHY cover IT? for sure they're going to say it really is in straight forward words pleasant and it really is devoid of doubt one among the friendship he might want to be attempting to percentage which include his spouse. His on a daily basis accomplishments/defeats on the job. His insecurities among his friends. WHAT EVER THE CASE...those are issues he might want to be sharing which include his best chum and once married....that is the spouse/or husband on your existence. no longer an casual acquaintance over beers or in textual content messages. it truly is likewise a kind of emotional dishonest.

I think any relationship or act that you can't disclose to your spouse is inappropriate. If it's a real friendship, then there's nothing to hide. I have a dear friend that I've known since the 6th grade (we're both now in our middle forties). He and I get together and have dinner or drinks with or without our spouses. We all know each other and there's nothing to hide.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!! I should say, if the spouse purposely keeps it from the friendship from the other. What are they hiding? And why are they putting their attention and energies into a secret friendship when they should be putting them into building their marriage.

I see noting wrong with it if it is a friendship. If you are keeping it from your spouse on purpose then you may have a problem .

Why wouldn't you let your spouse know? Being married means being open and honest with each other. You shouldn't hide unless you have the hots for your other friend.
