Is there a light (green or red) on anywhere on the motherboard? If so, power is getting into the machine. PCs have switched power supplies. If tripped, they won't go on again until discharged. Wait overnight and try again. Another trick is to watch the mobo fan when the power supply is plugged in. you should get a little twitch on the fan. If not, the PS is hosed and you need a new one. They are cheap and easily replaced. Just make sure you get the right size so you don't do this over and over. take the old one out and bring it with you to the store.
As long as you are inside, check that the little wires from the front panel haven't come loose from the motherboard. if they have, you need to plug them back in in the right order. Google your computer or motherboard's model number with "FPANEL". This info is hard to find for Dell, Compaq, and HP, but easy for every other kind of desktop. If the wires are loose, and you can't find the right picture, just plug the wires in every other spot (skip one pin each time) and hit the power button.

sounds obvious but i worked in a PC repair shop and one of the most common problems;
make sure it's plugged in at both ends of the power cable, the switch on the wall is turned in, the switch on the power supply (if there is one) is turned on, and make sure the fuse hasn't gone in the power cable, if none of this resolves it then open it up and make sure the case's power switch is plugged in on the right jumpers on the motherboard. if none of this helps then you will have to start narrowing down which part(s) needs replacing, starting with the power supply, and if you've blown a power supply you'll be lucky if you haven't fried any other components

Check to see if your power cables are plugged in and the power is on. If there still is no power then u might have to change your power supply..... it shouldnt cost much, i think its about $35

A) Ensure PC is plugged in
b) Change fuse in plug
c)Can you hear any fans fire up? If no, then replace psu (or call supplier)!
Hope this helps

It sounds like the power supply. Very inexpensive and easy to replace. That is always the first option, and hopefully it didn't damge the motherboard.
