My upstairs neighbors are very noisy. Do you know if there is anything I could put on the ceiling myself (without my landlord's help) like some type of layer that I could stick on the ceiling. Please let me know.

a layer of thick styrofoam would help, but would be more effective on the other side of your ceiling ie. their floor. dont know how you could put it up without the landlords permission tho. why are you paying rent and putting up with this anyway? get the landlord to set them str8! if he wont then id be giving notice. if the landlord wont help you have "reasonable peace" then id say its cause for breaking a lease if you have one.

move, call them to shut the f*** up, or comlain to the landlord he/she can usually help.
