Is it similar to PS2 in that it requires a Network Adaptor? After that, what do I do? Thank you!

Not quite. The PS3 has the network (Wi-Fi) already built in. So all you have to do actually is turn on your internet, then the game, go to the online menu, and you should be hooked up, if you have DSL or Cable. If you have dial up, you will need to buy a special cable that you can connect the PS3 with the phone line outlet.

with the xbox 360 you can get the linksys wireless g game adapter if you have a wireless network in your house and then sign up for xbox live and then just pop in a game that is multiplayer and start playing.

for the 360, u simply press join xbox live and ta-da, just click play online.

Both have built in online service. All you have to do is put them in Online mode!
