Yes, it's very possible. Our weight fluctuates on a daily basis, but it's not wise to weigh yourself every day. Once a week is best. Women especially can gain a significant amount of weight "over night" due to water retention. If you are on your period or just about to start it, this could explain the weight gain.
Always weigh yourself at the same time of day.

I was told to only weigh myself weekly due to fluctuations in weight due to water retention and whatnot. You probably did not gain 4lbs, it is probably a combination of water retention/food intake.

Most folks can gain or loose 5 pounds within a 24 hour period just by how much water they drink. What I'm saying is, any weight fluctuation under 5 pounds isn't really anything worth thinking about. When you think of your weight, don't asign yourself one solid number, give yourself a 5 pound range.

I have seen my own weight fluctuate as much as 8 pound a day before my period. After my period ended the water weight left.
