Start by being yourself. Don't try to be something other than what and who you are. Try reading the newspaper, become familiar with current events, literature, new music, artists. Find common interest and hone up on the knowledge based on those interests. Knowledge is power.

good luck with that. Perhaps you are too nervous, just try to pretend you are confident, and eventually you might feel that way. Confidence is all a big show anyway, there is no real way to measure it, not as if it is a muscle you can flex.
Confidence, or false confidence (both the same for practical purposes) will help you open up and feel more comfortable speaking about what you want to talk about rather than what you think your friends want you to say.

Less about yourself and more about them. Ask your friends about there clothes and what they did last week. You will see how interesting you will be when they have some one who will listen. OR Go on a vacation, come back and talk about your experiences.

I think you just need to loosen up. I know how it is... you're too busy being afraid of saying the wrong thing that you end up worrying that you're too boring!!! Just do what some of the other people said. start by complimenting someone's clothing- ask where they got it and go from there.
GOOD LUCK!!!! :)

that things that happen naturally. some people are just lucky to be born funny and spontaneous while others are more laid back and just like to chill. just be you. if you weren't "interesting" they wouldn't be friends with you. we can't all be entertainers, honey. someone's gotta be the one laughing.
but if you really are tired of being lame just crack a few jokes. think about topics they like talking about and research it a little.
hope I've been helpful!

Gain knowledge so you know what you're saying. Find out what you have in common with your friends and 'go for it.'
