Did your friend bail because she wanted your company throughout the night, needed someone there? Or because she wanted sex from you? If it is the latter, I'd say.. find a new friend.

You didn't lose much. You lost a woman whose main use for a young man in her life was someone for whom she could think, and have him automatically obey. This is not an attractive quality in a woman particularly from the point of view of the man in her life who is loved. Besides being overly aggressive, how else would she have steered you if you were still in her life? And what if you married her -- how would she have influenced your future?
