They look nothing alike. It would be foolish to say they do.

Spain is in Europe, and we are quite proud of having people of all origins and colors in our country, so you can't say someone from Spain is white, black, Hispanic or Arab by definition as I would not dare to say there is a single color of skin in the US.

If I had to define my skin color I would say white, as I believe my skin color is much closer to that of a German than a Mexican. I believe the definition of "hispanic" as a race is american, and it is defined by the typology of skin predominant in latin america which is yes, darker than in Europe's Spain as the original spaniards emigrating to america did mix with the local indians.

Also, for your information, in the south of Spain, the skin tones tend to be darke, like Mr. banderas, as per the arab heritage we have than in the north where our heritage is more celtic-germanic.

In any case, I would say Banderas is white, but as it is just a color of skin, I guess it does not make much of a difference....does it?

Because of relative geography and a social construct known as "whiteness."

Oh, and to the people below: Banderas is Spanish, and the Spanish are European, so he's "white."

,we as humans love to generalize and put everything into little neat categories.
Or ideas of race and gender is based on colour and language.
I live in Sweden, and believe it or not, the average Swed, is not blond blue eyed, sort. nor is the immigrant from other country's considered, an airean, .
why must it be so black and white no pun intended , we are all from different back rounds ,that's what makes up society. who cares about or skin tone. do you.

Not that it matters.

People are dumb. They also "classify" Australian Aborigines as white. This confirms that people are dumb.

He's not "white". Spanish/Latin American heritage would make him "hispanic", would it not?
