I think that you should wait until you feel comfortable with dating again. At times people may need counseling after a divorce depending on how the relationship went. I have been divorced and it is hard to start dating again. The first relationship after my divorce did not work. So you just wait until you are ready okay. Don't let anyone push you into something your not ready for. If you need counseling to deal with your issues with your ex and dealing with why he left and your self confidence. I say get it. You may need to speak with someone to understand your feelings and to learn about yourself all over again since your a different person and dating is not going to be the same as it was before you got married.

This is from my own experience and its worked great for me.I chose not to date for about a year and the reason was because I felt that if you start to soon you are very vuneral to make bad decisions. Its easy to get attached to someone on the rebound and this person can leave you with more pain than you were already in.Give it time and let your heart mend a bit.Meet some new friends and just enjoy the time building a better you.You will then be a nicer person when someone does come along and you shouldnt still have all those terrible fellings haunting you.

Wait till the divorce settlement is final. I believe in divorce cases with cause, property and custody settlements are sometimes influenced by the spouses' actions. Although your relationship with the husband maybe amicable now, it may not be once you sat down with your respective lawyers and start talking about who should take the house, etc. Of course, if there's nothing to settle then I'd say start dating as soon as you are ready.

The time to start dating is when you feel comfortable doing so. He wants you to date to ease his guilt because he wanted a divorce. Date when you want to date, not because anybody tells you that you should. It could be now, or a year from now or later. It all depends on you and whether or not you meet anybody you want to go out on a date with.

I reakon at least 6 months, especially if there are children involved. They need you right now more than ever, so if you are giving your all emotionally to a new partner the children will not be getting your full love and attention. I just seperated from my husband of 8 years and I never want to be near another man again for a long time(how I feel right now, I realise that could change) You can be perfectly happy and content without a man!!

When YOU want to date, it's the right time. Once one spouse files divorce papers, dating is fine for either.

Immediately AFTER your divorce go out on dates...you will eventually run into a good guy to have great sex with, yummy dinner dates and who will romance you and help u forget your past.

You can start dating as soon as you find a man that you are interested in.
