I think the answer to the sports part is too obvious. Boys are stronger than girls. Boys are rougher than girls. Girls cannot compete physically. The only benefit I can see for separating the sexes during school is so that their minds won't wander so much. Maybe they would pay more attention to their work.

I think segregating girls and boys in some sports is good. Because of the way guys are built they can (most of them) can hurt girls easily in some sports. However, in sports like volleyball coed is fine.

But segregating boys and girls period...um I wouldn't do it. That's my preference.

in school i think it's good because it takes away the distraction and puts more focus on school work. a lot of my friends went to all girls schools and they thought it was great to just be able to wake up and go to school with a uniform already picked out and not have to worry about guys.

in sports i think it's obvious. the majority of guys are better at sports than girls, and stronger. it wouldnt be fair to put a stronger sex against a weaker sex. you need to play with your equals.

Schools - helps concentration, stops boys acting like prats.

Sport - level playing field in terms of physical power.

There are fewer distractions and students don't have to impress the opposite sex.
