u can be driving and it start to lose power and u give it gas,it hesitate then it backfires loud and blow a hole in the muffler

sounds like your timeing belt is starting to go bad thats why is backfired and thats why your loseing powering give it a few days and it will stop runing how many miles dose it have on it?
thats what my car did when the timeing belt started brakeing

You need a new fuel pressure regulator. The engine is pushing too much fuel through the intake at once.
