Why is it that when I say at school, "P.O.D. and is Christian" everyone stares at me like I'm an idiot. And when I walk into church with "My Obssession" (This is a song by Skillet if you don't know) blaring in my earphones, all the old church folk get this look and tell me to turn it off. I say, "It's Christian music, what's problem." They don't believe me and say, "well that doesn't sound like Christian's"

Is it really that hard to believe that Christains can and Know how too Rock. I guess they get the Idea that Underoath is "too cool to be Chritsian." I get sick of having to explane this to everyone that Christian rock is not lame. There was one kid that was playing "Boom" (by P.O.D.) as he told me that he hated Christian rock and how stupid it was. When I informed him that he was currently listening to Christian Rock and likeing it. He got this look as if he was about to kill me. Then tried to tell me that P.O.D. was not Christian. Why don't people think christians can Rock?

This makes finding Christian Rock in a music store very hard to find. You never know if they will have Underoath or Skillet with the normal rock or the Christian Rock. Same with Switchfoot, Relient K, P.O.D. 12 Stones, and many others.

For those of you who don't belive in Christian Metal or Hard Rock, Check out:

Demon Hunter
Becoming The Archetype
Pillar
Day of Fire (you may know the lead singer from the no Christian band Full Devil Jacket. He converted to Christianity but this does not in any way make him lame)
The Showdown
Dead Poetic
Living Sacrifice
Norma Jean
Haste The Day

You can not deny that these bands are not Christian and you cannot deny that they rock just as much as Disturbed and all those non Christin bands.

Why do people believe that Christian Rock is lame and the Christian Rock they think is cool, they don't believe is Christian?

Ashton G is right. The bible does not speak out against drinking. Only against being drunk. Jesus himself, once made a whole bunch of alcholol for a wedding party.

Different music for different people. Old people are set in their ways no offense. But what worked for our parents doesn't work for us. My mom loves Southern Gospel Old time style. I don't really care for it and prefer music like skillet and Kutless , day of fire ect. But I used to listen to rock . If you go to africa You're not going to hear southern gospel. But yeah everyone expects us to play our harps and dance in our little frilly robes. I dunno but without Christian Rock I'd probaly have a harder time listening to music.

They are Christian by faith, not by music, and even that dosen't mean anything. Those guys do drugs, beer, and party just the same on the road. Isn't that Christian of them? Just like any religion choosing a faith dosen't change who you are, there is still bad people, bad music.

There is a correlation between extremely talented musicians and not being religious though, not to say that their are not some talented musicians who choose a religion. It is just to master an instrument it takes extensive training in all aspects from the outside in, and it is usually the musicians who take this same outlook to knowledge about life who strive for this perfection.

EDIT: Again, being of a religion does not make a bands music represent that religion. POD is not a talented band, but I don't associate that with their religion.
