I don't know if any of you are experiencing this too, but my Civic LX 2006 accelerates slowly and the RPM meter jumps real fast when I step on the gas. And the engine noise is loud comparing to other new cars I drove before.

I suggest driving another civic like yours and comparing the two. These cars are not rockets, but they are not slugs either. You may have something else going on. It is under warrantee, if it does not feel like another new one, make the dealer solve the puzzle.

I suggest taking it to the dealer and having them check it out. Sounds like the clutch might be slipping. They are not fast, but it should not be accelerating very slowly while the RPM's climb quickly. We know it doesn't have enough power to spin the tires like that! (well it does if it's a manual or wet outside, but that is likely not your problem)

I presume you're in 'drive' with overdrive on and on level ground. The civis is a nifty car and while it's no rocket, it should move decently when you hit the gas. Get that checked out.
