I think it might be closer than some people think. For some reason England didn't start competing until day three of the first test and then we were really treated to some display of batting!

If they can compete like that for a whole game and not just part of it then they won't be the walk over the Australians say they will be. They should stop listening to the hosts and make them take the Ashes away from them, rather then meekly submit.

Come on England, you CAN do it if you believe it! And you'll save me the $50 I bet my Australian mate too.

They are not going to lose, they will come from behind to win the ashes. Harmison will come back into form and decimate the opening batsmen in the adelade test, Panesar will play instead of the King of Spain and clean up the middle order before contributing a handy burst of runs for the England tail. Hoggy will be his ever dependable self and quietly pick of batsmen at key times, Flintoff will come back into form with the bat and continue bowling like a god. Our batsmen will get over their nerves and start putting together decent partnerships.

Boy but People have such short memories, I seem to remember England losing the 1st Test in the last Ashes series too. Then went on to win, I think this was just the wake up call they needed./

While Englind will loose the ashes series, Australia will not be able to win the same 5-0 which is certain. England may come
out strongly in the remaining matches and try to redeem some of their lost prestige.

They could lose the lot. They went in too confidently with too little preparation.
