My little sister in 5th grade has music homework and she doesn't know the note on top of line 5. (Or the first one, but technically 5) The note is like this:

If the note is right above the line and it is in treble clef, than the note is a "G". The easiest way to remember treble clef notes is that from bottom to top the notes are "E"very "G"ood "B"oy "D"eserves "F"udge , E on the bottom line, F on the top. The spaces are F-A-C-E, F on the bottom space, E in the top space.

Depends on the clef. If it is a treble clef (the curly one that looks a little like a &) it would be G

If it is a bass clef (the one that curls round to the right) it is a B

There are other clefs too, but these are the most likely ones.

Depends if it is treble clef or bass clef. If its treble and resting on the top of the 5th line then its a G.

the top line is F.

a good way to remember: starting from the bottom line it goes like this... E G B D F....Every Good Boy Does Fine.

Every good boy does fine - EGBDf -Treble clef
Bass clef - GBDFA

It's a very high G. At least it is in violin music.
